The Last OPAM for 2017

WOW it's hard to believe that another year is nearly finished and it's time to post my last OPAM for 2017.. This is the seventh year I've joined the lovely ladies  Kris and Peg for OPAM and I do hope they run it again next year as it does help keep me on track...  Thank you heaps ladies...XX

I finally finished the little baby quilt that come home with me from my DDs a few weeks ago...
Remember I didn't quiet have enough binding to go all the way round, you can see it HERE .

This is how I fixed the problem...
Added a piece to fit on each corner....
I think it worked out well.

Out of some the scrap fabrics that also come home with me I made a basket . I bought a Dolly and made a blanket to wrap her in and put her in the basket which was I gifted to be given to a special little girl for christmas..

Thanks Ellyn for the idea..

I can now show some of the Christmas gifts I made awhile ago...

Tea Towel and Rotary Cutter Sleeve.

Two Scissors Keeps...

and of course the Driftwood Tree.

I still can't show you the gift and ornie I made for SSCS as I haven't heard from my partner... Do hope the parcel hasn't gone astray...

Sew that's it for this year. I plan to have a good clean out of the Cave and make a list of UFOs and anything I know will never be finished by me I will pass on to someone else to finish...

Happy Stitching,

Last FNSI for 2017

I got an early start for FNSI with Wendy and 16 other ladies but it was not a sewing project I worked on but this,

While going for walks along South Beach I collect pieces of driftwood and some of these where picked up by my DD sew I decided to make her

                                             A Driftwood Tree..

Even the little fish on bottom was an old lure someone had thrown out on the beach..

After dinner I thought I'd put the binding on a baby quilt that come home with me on my last trip to my DDs..

Found the perfect binding in my bag of left over bindings.

But after pinning it on

there just wasn't enough to go all the way around......Do I just add another pieces or find a different  binding ????

It's time for an early night sew thank you Wendy for another great year of FNSI and look forward to joining you again in 2018... Wishing you a Happy Christmas and All the Best Wishes for 2018..

sew I had to do a little reverse sewing.........

My blogging friend Mary from Needled Mom asked if anyone would like to make a few "Thomas Fire Blocks " for the folk who have lost everything in the HUGE fires in California USA.
we can send them to The Ventura Modern Quilt Guild"   who will make them into quilts and distribute...
You can find the address and pattern for the blocks HERE..

These are the ones I popped in the post today......

Then I made the last Fat Quarter "Quilt-A-Long blocks..

While Sandra sewed costumes  I traced a free Christmas stitchery Michelle kindly shared with us and also started making this felt Santa ornament....

I enjoyed a visit with my sister ,  went shopping and of course going to Miss Maud's for Princess cake with my DD and GD
