Some Finishes for OPAM....

I'm really happy to be part of Peg and Kris's OPAM . I  know that I must have at least one finish each month..
This month I worked on Toni's    " Elephants"

I took sew many photos and just can't seam to get the true bright colours...  but when I took the photo of the backing and my strippy binding the colour looked better ?????

Earlier this month we had the Cancer Councils  "Biggest Morning Tea"  The ladies make up beautiful baskets for raffle prizes and I made 4 Place mats to pop into one of them...

I wasn't one of the winners but our committee was delighted to have raised over $8000  on the morning.. Such generous folk live in our small town.

Another finish this month is the second "Scissor's Keep " designed by Lynette Anderson ..

This one is a gift for ???????? someone..

Hope you all had a happy month stitching and managing some finishes too..

Embroidery, Pelican and FNSI.

Last weekend I attended an Embroidery Workshop.. I can't believe how little we seam to have done but how much we did learn...

Here is what I achieved over the two days....

I'm glad that there are called "Wonky Houses" as they surely are...LOL.

On Tuesday as I drove past our swimming hole I saw this lonely fella sitting on the rail at the end of the boardwalk... Thought I'd get some photos for my friend Sunny.

He let me get up really close to him

You can see the ocean in the distance were we swim when it's warmer..

Up Up and Away...

I hope he;s off to find some of his friends as he's been here on his own for awhile now...

As it is the third Friday of the month tomorrow night don't forget to sign up for FNSI with the lovely Wendy for a fun night of sewing with our online friends.. You can pop over HERE to join in...

Time to do some stitching...

Blogging Friends

This year I joined the Stitch-A-Long and as I live in a small crayfishing/tourist town, in West Aussie, which doesn't have a fabric store, my lovely friend Fiona who lives on the other side of Australia in Queensland helped me purchase some beautiful fabrics from Quilter's Angel via the internet...

Backing for blocks and borders.

with my fabrics...

Now I have been able to make my first block....

Also in a previous post I showed you my "Candle Mat" which I was having trouble finding the right buttons to complete it...
Well this week another lovely blogging friend JO sent me these buttons

and now my "Candle Mat" looks great..

Huge thank you to both ladies for your help..
